Superbowl XLII

I am home for the week. Wesleyan is on a one week vacation so I get to be home with my family. I am so excited to get to watch the Superbowl. I am a huge football fan. I wish the Indianapolis Colts had made it to the big game but I will settle for the New York Giants. I am hoping the Giants pull off a big upset. Well shall soon see. My sisters birthday is this Tuesday. I just wanted to wish her a "Happy Birthday" and say the "I love you sis". We are planning to hang out and get a massage. I can't wait. I could sure spend some time relaxing while I am home.

Nothing at All

My Class

My three violinists

This is my nothing at all blog. The last few weeks I have been getting back into the swing of things since coming back from Christmas break. I will say that I do stay busy. Sometimes I wonder if I have to much responsibility. If that is possible. I do want to stay busy doing what God has called me to do. I love working with children and especially teaching violin. Right now I have three little girls that are 6 years old. They are doing a fantastic job. I am excited about how fast they learn. Children soak up so much information and learn so quickly. I am thankful that they are forgiving as well. As long as you show them love they return the favor. Sometimes I wish I could take some of them home with me and show them the true meaning of family. Some of them have messed up lives and my heart just aches for them. I just wonder why God allows some people to have children. I guess he knows what he is doing. Just wish I knew what he was doing. All in good time I suppose. I just want to stay close to him. I never want to take one breath without him. He is my everything!

Stingray City

I have lived in Cayman almost three years and this is the first that I have had the opportunity to go to Stingray City. It is located about 30 minutes off the main island. It also known as the sand bar. There is a reef that surrounds the island and the sand bar is located right before you get to the reef. On the sand bar there are over 100 stingrays. Most of them are pretty tame. The female are the biggest and the male is about the size of a dinner plate. You are able to get out of your boat and swim with the stingrays. At first I was a little nervous because they swim right around your legs and I didn't want to step on them. Once I started touching them I was no longer afraid. I got to hold one of the females. She was huge and weighed a ton. Before we left I had a chance to hold a baby female and she stayed with me for the longest time. If you feel underneath them they are as smooth as baby's skin. I thought I would share my stingray experience with you. I hope you enjoy it. I also snuck a picture of a Cayman sunset.

My first full week back in Cayman is just about over. It has been a long one that is for sure. We are in revival with Rev. Steve Clemens. We have had chapel services every day except on Monday. The students are getting quit restless. It is very difficult for 5 and 6 year olds to sit for an hour and a half. I have decided not to pester them about being still during service. It makes for a rough day when they start the morning sitting for so long. With that in mind, I have kept their work load to a minimum so the teacher can stay sane. They all seemed eager to come back and tell me about their Christmas. I think I even missed the students a little. It was nice to get back to the normal schedule. I love having the time off but usually I can't wait to get back to being busy again. I hardly know what to do with myself when I am not working.

The weather is just about perfect this time of year. The temperature is between 75 and 80 with a nice cool breeze to keep it cool. Perfect weather to sit outside and enjoy the sun on my face. I can sit outside without sweating to death. So I will hopefully get to enjoy many long walks along the beach in the next few weeks.

My uncle Gene came to visit for a few days

I have been enjoying my vacation in Indiana this Christmas. My first Christmas to be without both of my siblings. It was a quit a bit dull this year. This last week I have been taking care of my sister's dog while her family has been in Maryland. Most of my time was spent at my grandmas house with her, my dad, uncle's and my mom. This year I have enjoyed the time with my family and even had a few hours to myself. It has been a great vacation. I actually feel rested. I will be headed back to Cayman on January 5. I will be ready to get back in the groove again. I am also very thankful that the weather has been kind to me. I am used to 70 and 80 degree weather. 50 and 60 can be very cold for me but it has been tolerable. Well I wish every one a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Well I had a great vacation. I Spent lots of money and went to the ACE convention. I am back on the island and getting ready for the Christmas holiday. Next week we have our first band concert and I will be conducting four different groups this year. I am so excited about having more responsibility. I finally get to test all the things I learned while at college. My intermediate band is playing quite well this year. I think they have come a long way.
We have two more weeks of school left and then we leave for vacation. I am ready to spend some quality time with my family. I have been missing them so much. This will be the first year that I have not seen them during November break. It has been a long four months. I know they are eager to see me as well.

October Blue's

Well the month of October is almost over. The dreaded day of Halloween is fast approaching. I think that is the day the devil works in mysterious ways. Anyway, things are going well for now. I have started 4 new private violin lessons. They range in age between 5-6 years old. They are so cute and I am having so much fun with them. They learn so fast and soak up so much information. I have to be crazy to work 6 days a week but I love it. I am getting so much experience down here. If and when I decide to leave I think I will be able to do anything.
Two more weeks and I finally get to leave the island for a few days. I won't get to be with my family but I will at least get to go shopping for a few days. There is no place to go shopping here except for the grocery store. Needless to say that the highlight of my week is to leave the compound and go grocery shopping. You learn really fast to enjoy the small things in life!! I love the life that God has given me and I wouldn't trade it for any other.
